Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 16, 2026
Casa Verde Microfarm ("Casa Verde," "we," "us," "our") operates this catalogue site serving chefs and restaurants in Greater Montreal and the surrounding region. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Act to Establish a Legal Framework for Information Technology and related amendments (Québec Law 25) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly. When you submit a wholesale inquiry or contact us by email, we collect your name, restaurant or company name, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your message.
Technical information. When you visit the site, our servers automatically log basic technical data including your IP address, browser user-agent, referring page, and the time of your request. This data is used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic analysis.
We do not run third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or behavioural profiling tools on this site.
2. How we use your information
We use the information you submit solely to respond to your inquiry, discuss your kitchen’s needs, and — if you become a customer — to coordinate quotes, deliveries, and invoicing.
We use technical log data only to operate and secure the site: detecting abuse, diagnosing errors, and meeting our legal obligations.
3. Legal basis for processing
We rely on the following legal bases: your consent (when you voluntarily submit a form), our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries and protecting the site from abuse, and the performance of a contract (once you engage us as a supplier).
4. Sharing with service providers
We engage a short list of service providers to operate this site. Each handles personal information only as needed to deliver their service to us, under written agreements and their own privacy commitments:
Vercel Inc. (United States) — web hosting and edge content delivery.
Resend (United States) — transactional email delivery of inquiry messages sent from the site.
Shopify Inc. (Canada / international) — product catalogue source of truth. Product data (titles, descriptions, images, prices) is pulled from Shopify at build time; no personal information about site visitors is shared with Shopify.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes with third parties outside the providers listed above.
5. International data transfers
Because Vercel and Resend operate infrastructure in the United States, some of the information you submit may be transferred outside Canada during normal processing. These providers maintain their own published privacy commitments and contractual safeguards. By using this site, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in jurisdictions with data-protection laws that differ from those of Québec or Canada.
6. Cookies and tracking
This site sets no third-party cookies, no advertising cookies, and no analytics cookies. We may use first-party cookies or local storage strictly for essential functionality such as remembering your language preference.
7. Data retention
Inquiry messages are retained for up to thirty-six (36) months from the date of last contact, after which they are deleted unless we are legally required to retain them.
Server logs are retained for up to ninety (90) days and then rotated out.
Customer records (for active or past commercial relationships) are retained for the duration of the relationship plus seven (7) years to comply with Canadian tax and accounting requirements.
8. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, restricted administrative access, and limiting data collection to what we actually need. No system can be guaranteed fully secure; we cannot promise absolute protection against every conceivable attack.
9. Your rights
Under Québec Law 25 and PIPEDA, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention obligations); withdraw consent to processing at any time; and request information about any automated decision-making affecting you.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@casaverde-microfarm.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days of receiving your request.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAI) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) if you believe your rights have not been respected.
10. Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adult wholesale buyers — chefs, restaurant operators, and trade professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under fourteen (14) years of age. If you believe a minor has submitted information through the site, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. For significant changes affecting active customers, we may also notify you by email.
